Hint: If You Have to Announce Your Sanity, You’re Insane

There’s a timeless truth about human nature: sane people don’t have to tell you they’re sane. They just quietly go about their day not eating glue and not shouting into microphones about how rational they are.

So when Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took the stage to yell, “We are not the crazy ones! We are sane!” at a rally for Zohran Mamdani, the only thing missing was a padded room and a juice box.

It’s like watching someone stand in the middle of Times Square wearing a tinfoil hat screaming, “I’M NORMAL!” — and a crowd of equally deranged disciples cheering back, “YES, QUEEN, YOU ARE!”

The Cult of Make-Believe Reality

Here’s the thing: this isn’t new. For years, the Left and their secular apostles have been running a religion of unreality. Their gospel goes something like this:

  • Men can become women — just add eyeliner, estrogen, and a Twitter bio update.

  • Women can become men — as long as they keep the parts they like and the pronouns they don’t.

  • Men can get pregnant — because nothing says “biology” like uteruses magically appearing after a gender studies degree.

  • Math is racist — 2 + 2 = white supremacy.

  • Silence is violence — but looting is peaceful protest.

  • Speech is violence — unless it’s our speech, then it’s “speaking truth to power.”

  • Riots are mostly peaceful — as long as the buildings burning belong to small businesses.

  • The planet will die in 12 years — as announced by people who still take private jets to climate conferences where the Holy Father will bless Ice.

  • Police are evil — until someone steals your iPhone.

  • Borders are immoral — unless it’s the gated community where the activists live.

  • Merit is oppression — participation trophies are the new Nobel Prize.

  • Fat is healthy — BMI is a conspiracy invented by Big Salad.

  • Criminals are victims — and victims are privileged.

  • Children can consent — to hormones, but not to bedtime.

  • All religions are equal — except Catholicism, which is “problematic.”

  • Whiteness is a disease — cured only by self-loathing and a $40,000 liberal-arts degree.

  • The nuclear family is fascism — because nothing terrifies Marxists like dads who stick around.

  • Men are toxic — unless they’re identifying as women, in which case they’re brave and stunning.

  • History began in 1619 — everything before that was fake news.

  • Reality is oppressive — therefore it must be deconstructed, reconstructed, and gender-neutralized

This is the Church of the Self, where biology is a hate crime and logic is white supremacy.

And the best part? They mean it. These are people who can’t define “woman” but will absolutely redefine reality itself to make sure you clap for their courage.

Meanwhile, the Catholic Church Is Busy Holding Hands and Singing “Gather Us In”

Now, you’d expect the Catholic Church — the oldest, most intellectually robust, reality-based institution in human history — to stand up and say:

“Enough. This is madness. Man and woman He created them. Get thee behind me, pronouns.”

But instead, we get bishops clutching their “Synod on Synodality” binders like emotional support animals, whispering, “Let’s accompany people in their delusions.”

Accompany?

That’s like “accompanying” a friend off a cliff because you didn’t want to hurt their feelings by shouting, “You’re about to die, Carl!”

We have priests afraid to say the word “man” from the pulpit because Sister Tambourine from the parish committee will give them the evil eye over her felt banner that reads “LOVE IS LOVE (AND ALSO CLERGY LAITY SYNODALITY).”

The modern Church acts like the Gospel is a TED Talk sponsored by Crayola.
Boomers in tie-dye albs leading “inclusive liturgies” with “breathing exercises” that feel like a hostage situation at a retirement home craft circle.

Reality Used to Be Catholic Territory

Once upon a time, the Church gave the world Aquinas, Augustine, and the Council of Trent — men who could argue circles around every philosopher alive today before breakfast.

Now we’ve got Father Participation Trophy improvising liturgy and delivering homilies about how Jesus probably would’ve used they/them pronouns “because He loved everyone.”

Reality used to be our thing. We literally defined being and essence. Now we’re afraid to define gender in case the parish youth minister writes a mean tweet.

The War Isn’t Against “The Right” — It’s Against Reality Itself

This isn’t left vs. right anymore. It’s truth vs. delusion.

When the world says “men can get pregnant,” they’re not just wrong — they’re denying the basic logic of creation itself. And when the Church stays silent, it tells the faithful: “We’d rather be liked than be right.”

And so the madness spreads.
We’ve turned from Logos (divine reason) to Legos (build your own reality).

The Felt Banner Church of Nice™

Let’s talk about the Church of Nice™ — you know, the one that thinks Jesus’ main message was, “Don’t make anyone uncomfortable.”

The bishops hold “listening sessions” with activists who think the Catechism is hate speech, while faithful Catholics just trying to attend a reverent Latin Mass get treated like medieval outlaws.

The irony is painful:

The only group not “accompanied” by the modern Church is the group still sane enough to believe that God created two sexes and meant it. We’re called “rigid” and “intolerant.” Well, guilty as charged. Being rigid and intolerant used to be called “faith” and “obedience.”

Laughter Is the Last Defense of Sanity

Yes, AOC’s meltdown was funny. Hilariously funny. Like watching a clown car collide with a gender studies department—a single car accident.

But behind the absurdity lies something deadly serious.

When people have to shout “WE ARE SANE,” it means they’ve already lost touch with that very sanity.

And when the Church doesn’t shout back, “No, you’re not — and here’s why,” it means we’ve lost our courage to defend reality itself. It means we’ve become tolerant of delusion. We MUST remain rigid in our intolerance of delusion and communicate this with charity.

Final Benediction for a Crazy Age

So here’s your Latin for the week: Si teipsum sanum esse dicere debes, insanus es.
(“If you have to say you’re sane, you’re insane.”)

We can laugh — and we should — but laughter must lead to clarity and charity.

We’re in a world where up is down, man is woman, and bishops think “pastoral accompaniment” means patting you on the back as society marches into the abyss.

The Church needs less synodality and more sanity.
Less hugging and more heroism.
Less felt banner, more faith.

More rigidity. More intolerance. Yes. INTOLERANCE. More clarity. And, finally, a communication of all this with charity.

Because while AOC and her choir of the unhinged scream, “We are sane!”, the Church should be the one institution left standing tall enough to say, calmly and clearly:

“No. You’re not.—And we love you enough to tell you so.”
