Being put on the spot is difficult. Sometimes not confident in your
knowledge base - call on the Holy Spirit.

Find a common base to meet people at.

Families can be the toughest people to talk to. Don't be afraid to speak
but do it in love and not in an offensive way.

Controversial issues - Discern whether the person is baiting you or whether they are interested in an open, honest discussion.

Use the Bible and the Catechism to answer questions.
